Organic traffic is what ranking is for: people finding you through a search you did not pay for. Its economics invert advertising's — an ad stops the day the budget does, while a page that earns a position keeps returning visitors for years at the cost of maintenance. That is why it is treated as an asset rather than an expense: slow to build, but it compounds.
It is also the channel with the most honest feedback: organic visitors found the page by asking the question it answers, so what they do next is a clean measure of whether the answer was good. Paid traffic can be bought into looking successful; organic has to earn the return visit.
