# Social proof

> Evidence that others already trusted you — reviews, named clients, numbers — the shortest path past a stranger's scepticism.

Buyers trust claims in proportion to who makes them: 'we ship on time' from the studio is marketing, 'they shipped in three weeks' from a named client is evidence. Social proof is that evidence collected — testimonials, ratings, client logos, case numbers, user counts — and it does its work at the exact moment of doubt, which is why the effective placements are beside the price, next to the claim, and above the contact form, not on a page nobody visits.

Credibility is the constraint: the proof must survive a click. Named people with roles and companies, verifiable reviews, numbers that can be checked — these persuade. Anonymous praise, round numbers without sources, and logos that cannot be traced do the opposite: a sceptical buyer reads fake-proof as proof of the opposite.
