# Anchor

> The Rust framework for Solana programs — generates the boilerplate and enforces the checks raw Solana development makes easy to forget.

Raw Solana development means hand-validating every account a transaction touches — is it owned by the right program, signed by the right key, the account you think it is. Anchor wraps that in declarative constraints: you state 'this account must be owned by this program' once, and the framework enforces it.

The footguns Anchor cannot remove are the design ones — who may call what, where funds can flow, what a malicious instruction ordering does — which is why the audit is a separate engagement even when the framework did its job. Convenience removes boilerplate, not responsibility.
