# ERC-20

> Der Fungible-Token-Standard auf Ethereum — das Interface (transfer, balanceOf, approve), das jeden Token mit jedem Wallet und jeder Börse kompatibel macht.

Vor ERC-20 erfand jeder Token sein eigenes Interface und jedes Wallet brauchte Sonderanfertigungen. Der Standard fixierte eine Handvoll Funktionen und Events — transfer, approve, balanceOf — und ein Ökosystem entstand: Jeder konforme Token ist ab Tag eins listbar, tauschbar und wallet-fähig.

Die scharfe Kante ist 'approve': Es erlaubt einem anderen Contract, von deinem Saldo bis zum erlaubten Betrag auszugeben — und unbegrenzte Approvals, einmal erteilt und vergessen, sind der Weg, über den die meisten Wallets geleert werden. 'Widerrufe, was du nicht mehr nutzt' ist Wallet-Grundhygiene, wie API-Keys widerrufen.
